Ferrari using Japanese parts?
Ferrari using Japanese parts?
I posted this on F-chat too, but it seems like I might find out more info on these boards given that there's a thread on Endless in the GT3 section..
Love the Risi team. The finish of the 12-hours of Sebring back in '07 was epic. In my Googling of the team the other day, I found some press release that had a quote from their technical engineer about some company called Endless. Turns out to be some Japanese brake brand. Thought that was interesting given every team I know uses Pagid or PFC. Anyone know anything about Endless?
Edit: Oops. Angered the moderator Gods. Guess I can't post the actual press release on here. I wonder if I can say that it was on the Endless website. Hope the mods don't mind a pic of the Risi car.. Anyway, info on Endless? Anyone?

Stein, who's that Ben guy? And did he do that to the GTR? That's pretty, uh, out there.. Some friends of mine have beautifully tuned Japanese cars, but that GTR looks like it's straight out of a F&F movie. Seems kind of.. "off" from the image that he's trying to say Endless has, imho.
Ag02M5, I didn't know that about the F40. But I'm a little more curious about the Japanese aftermarket parts than the OE ones.
Anyone ever use the pads or fluid on their Ferraris or know if any of the vendors have? I'm contemplating trying them out now.

Endless is a very popular brand that most "no budget" projects get. They are top of the line and big $$$. I've had some friends with Z's use Endless brake kits and their products are unbelievable. It says a lot when people are putting $6+ brake systems on $15k cars.
seems like the majority of people out there know them for brake systems, but it appears as though their real forte is pads and fluid. chris, what do your friends have to say about the pads and fluid?

The BAR F1 team used, now Brawn uses Endless, Enkei is Japanese as seen on F1 cars, Rays is Japanese also used in F1. It doesn't matter what country the company is from any more, rather that the build quality and standards are in place.

Very true. Except that I heard that Enkei doesn't make their own F1 wheels...
Just thought it was interesting given that I've never heard of race teams using Endless pads before. It's pretty much been Pagid and PFC all-day-everyday up until I read that press release.
All I really wonder now is why we don't see more people like you or I running Endless if they make such great product.
Nevertheless, I'm pretty much convinced. Hard to argue with the results they've been able to produce. I'm going with Endless pads and fluid next time for sure.

Plenty of Japanese parts in Ferrari's- starters, alternators, A/C compressors.
Also plenty of Delphi parts as well as Bosch, etc.
I would bet the steel brake rotors are from China.
Been to a Ferrari store lately to see the labels from China on the goods?
