Ran a manual a few years ago, shifted down twice the sound was glorious through my open window! Enjoy the Ride!

Congrats on acquiring what many say is the last true ferrari. The F355s sound is intoxicating and the ride, is amazing. In some ways i prefer it to a 360, 430. Only thing I dont prefer is OC (operating costs) but regardless of its niggles and costs, its still worth it IMO and it truly is a classic. Enjoy in the best of health!

Very nice. Fiorano edition? The switches all look good - no rubber stickiness, yes? See if you can find the elusive FOLDING top for the 355 GTS. Worth its weight in gold, particularly if you're tall. Enjoy!

Thanks guys, I'm looking forward to it but hoping I will like it. (it is a little low in the hp department compared to previous cars but with any luck I will still have fun)

Dennis, it is not a Fiorano, I believe those were all Spiders but I could be wrong. Not tall, only 5ft 9 so maybe I'll have enough room with the roof stored behind the seats.

If not, I will look for one of those folding tops

Congrats bud. I still think the 355 is one of the best looking Ferrari's made. That interior looks all business, I like it.

When you get bored of the low power with a musical sound, there is always the LS7 swap. You know ya want to

Well, if you do decide to get one, here's some info that may help....

The top was NOT a factory option, but I've been told that it IS an FNA option. Fits both 348TS and 355 GTS. When folded, it rests ON the shelf behind the seats (thereby NOT requiring you to move the seat forward to stow the top!). It is no more or less watertight than the standard top (a little drippage if driven in heavy rain). Another 1" or more of head room with the top on, as compared to the standard top. Takes about a minute to install/remove. Best upgrade I made to my 348, before I went to 355s.

Rarer than a black swan these days, I've heard folks offering over $1500 for it (and worth it if you need the room).

vty,

Oh, re the exhaust sound, you do have several options these days, aside from Tubi (the most popular). If you really want to annoy the neighbors and get tickets, you can get a 355 Challenge exhaust (effectively an open exhaust) for a few hundred bucks. Sounds UNBELIEVABLE. Of course, I don't even run that on my Challenge race car, because it fails sound at most tracks in the NE. But a friend who drives his Challenge ON THE STREET... well, you can hear him coming from a mile away....

They are really good cars. I raced in the Ferrari 355 challenge in 1998 and 1999. I finished second in the championship in 99. I really should have won, I won 8 races, but a DNF (accident) and a broken valve spring (DNF), put me in the second posistion overall for the championship. The races and the cars were great...I did the whole 99 season without rebuilding my engine. I absolutly ran the snot out of it. Those engines are tough! Looking back maybe I should have rebuilt it halfway through the season like a lot of the other guys did, due to the broken valve spring that happened at the last race at Laguna Seca, but hindsight is always 20/20 I guess. Anyway, enjoy!

It has a quicksilver muffler but stock cats so I think I'm going to go with high flow cats and remove the secondary cats from the y-pipe.
Get. A. Tubi.

Regardless of whether there are better performing cars for less money, if its what you want then thats what matters. I am an all time fan of the F355's and yours is a beautiful example of one.

Enjoy her!

I'm told the F355 is like the end of the Enzo era Ferrari's, supposedly they changed quite a bit after that car. I've always wanted one (and still do) and have to admit after losing my desire for convertibles/spyders, you picked a fine one. What a beauty.

The exhaust is small beans. How did MrEdS4 say it? Get a Tubi. Good advice.

Ah, thanks guys. I have welded straight pipe in place of the secondary cats and am waiting for the magnaflow metallic cats to arrive to replace the originals.

Tony, no matter how awesome the end result may be, no way in hell I could bring myself to do an LS transplant I've never been a fan of cross-breeding and that would just make me hate myself. Not to mention, I could sell this car and buy a C6 Z06 for way less cash.
