6spd Ferrari prices going up?
Now that Ferrari has announced that they're no longer going to offer a Manual 6spd in new models, what are your thoughts on the resale market in the coming years? I would expect that well maintained examples (6spd of course) may actually increase in resale value.

The 6spd is really fun to drive. Took me a while to find my, out of all the 360s I have seen in person. I have only seen one other that is 6spd.
I think the 6spd F430 is the ultimate. I would like to pick one up someday, and use my 6spd 360 as daily driver.

I have a 6-speed 360, while my first choice was F1 (thus i was a huge fan of SMG in my e46 M3) the MT is amazing in the Ferrari, the gated shifter and clank of an upshift is only one of the many things that makes the drive more enjoyable everytime, and nothing beats rev-matching on the downshifts, throttle blips and a decent heel and toe (still working on it), achieved by oneself and not the computer

what he said. older models will still depreciate, just the manual cars will follow a less steep curve
hopefully porsche will hold out for a long as possible. offering pdk is all good and fine, but i will forever want 3 pedals

The issue lies in the fact that these new dual clutch transmissions have 7 speeds and then they would have to offer a different 6 speed manual. That would take a different bellhousing, possibly a different flywheel, getting that one certified with each car and the extra costs of two totally different gearboxes. Remember the F1 is just a automated manual tranny. Not the same as the new ones in the Cali and 458....
And then there are guys like me that want paddle shifting DCT's the rest of his life.
I'm a changed man. I used to think the gated shifter was the way to go - not any more. So I'll go with the lesser valued, DCT (DSG) in my next car.
