Couldn't have said it any better! F430 all the way man, especially if you're picking up a vert. The SLS can't can't beat the visual appeal and feel of the Ferrari.

I'd rather have my sports car developed by Ferrari than Dodge...

No offense to all Viper owners.

I can't believe I never noticed the resemblance between the SLS and the Viper. They have a lot of similarities in the build.

F430 hands down. I dont like the SLS looks at all. Ive always said it looks like a Mercedes version of the RT/10. Now I know why.

Anyone else think the front end has a somewhat old-fashioned look to it? Looks like it could be from the 80s or 90s. The rear is nice though. I'm just having a hard time warming up to that huge grill with what seems like an over-sized MB badge.

I was originally going to say SLS but looking at your stable listed in your sig, you already have a very nice Benz collection. I'd go for the F430 if I was in your shoes.

Both are great

F430

pros : ferrari, power, sound, elegance, looks, etc etc
cons : no longer a "new" ferrari since 458 is coming out, it would be used (with about 500-2k miles)

SLS

pros : new model, most likely gonna be a one-off model (timeless), power, sound, the doors are a plus
cons : might feel like any other AMG but faster, you can buy a ferrari for this price

What do you all think?
Nico; I have both
2009 F430
2014 SLS AMG GT
The Ferrari has an unbelievable up-shift bark and scream but the downshifts lack a burble. Very comfortable, easy to get in and out, and tons of aftermarket parts. People ALWAYS stop and stare, photogs are abound and again theirs nothing like saying you have a Ferrari. Now the F430 isn't the newest model out but it's still very relevant. I love the air intakes and just how smooth the lines are. Truly a work of art.
The SLS AMG GT: very awesome car, tons of power; lacks up-shift bark, but the down-shifts are absolutely magnificent! Huge burble and boil-down. I love slowing down for a light because every time I do I'm reminded what I'm driving.
The SLS is much more difficult to get in and out of but once your in, it's as comfortable as any other Mercedes--truly. I just drove 6hours to Naples Florida for a 2 hour meeting and drove back another 6 hours the same day because the drive was absolutely invigorating. -- I know I'll NEVER try that drive in the Ferrari.
In short: SLS is my daily driver and I have no regrets--absolutely love that beast.
F430-- is my weekend car and I love the hell out of it too sooo get both
