Agency Power Exhaust from Vivid - 360

As some of you know, I've been searching high and low for a new cat-back exhaust for my 2002 Ferrari 360 Modena. Easily I've spent a dozen hours researching the various vendors and listening to YouTube vids (driving my wife absolutely crazy in the process).

The exhaust note is a critical aspect of enjoying my cars. I've upgraded exhausts on my prior Porsche GT3, Turbo, and C2S -- as well as replaced the entire exhaust system on my C63.

When my 360 arrived I was shocked at how quiet the exhaust note was (unless in WOT, but even then, it didn't scream). Granted, I'm an exhaust note snob -- perhaps I'm in the minority on the stock 360 exhaust doing nothing for me

Here were my exhaust criteria in general order of importance to me:
1) Remote valve control (keeping neighbors from burning down my house, and not having to manually plug/unplug the valves)
2) F1-like sound (high-pitch, screaming tone)
3) Attention-grabbing "bark" sound on startup (that can be toned down with valve control)
4) No drone
5) $3,500 USD or under

My criteria landed me with the Agency Power system from Vivid Racing. Here is a Vivid link with pics and more detailed technical descriptions of what I purchased:

My local Porsche dealer did the install and I picked up the car just the other day. WOW -- I'm floored (pun intended) with how this system has exceeded all of my requirements. Here are some of my observations:

* With the valves in closed position (running through the muffler) the volume is just a hair above stock, but with a more pleasing sound. So both at idle and driving at all RPM bands, the cabin sound level (and exterior) keeps the benefits of the quiet stock exhaust.

* With the valves open (by-passing the muffler), the car idles with lovely aggressiveness. At all RPM ranges, she screams and is just the way I imagined a Ferrari sounding. Interestingly the cabin sound level is not much higher than with the valves closed -- which was a nice surprise. But with the windows down (and certainly for people outside the car) the sound is truly inspiring.

* The startup "bark" gives me a smile every time. With the stock exhaust, I was almost embarrassed with how, well, limp the startup sound was.

* No drone, at any RPMs. I can talk on my phone with ease for example.

* The price is right -- the system sold for under $3,500 USD and my dealer charged me only $495 for the install.

My only regret is living in Pittsburgh where the weather has not cooperated in the least for me to enjoy what I consider to be a transformed car. (Now I tread lightly with that statement because living in Steeler country has its benefits too)!!

I want to thank Rob Rohn at Vivid Racing for helping me through the selection process. From what I understand, he has a 360 on which he's put many different exhausts, so he was an invaluable resource to me.

Once the weather clears I will post a series of vids as a follow-up within this thread. In the meantime I have 2 vids that will give you only a modest sense as to what this system can do.

Feel free to ask me any questions about my exhaust pursuit.

Nice write up, found it very informative. The sounds a Ferrari can make are truly a marvel on its own and and at the top of its class.

Out of curiosity, since your research was very thorough, how would you describe this set up compared to Capristo and Kriessieg in therms of pitch and sound level?

I have not heard Capristo and Kriessieg in person -- only via YouTube. Kriessieg IMO is an incredible exhaust with one of the best sounds, but it's also very pricey. With a much, much larger budget I would have chosen Kriessieg.

I think the Agency Power exhaust pitch and volume sounds similar to a Capristo L3 in WOT and perhaps a L1/L2 at idle.
