348 or 355
348 or 355
Looking at getting an older Ferrari to enjoy and keep for collection.
I am having a hard time deciding between a 348 or 355 both red with tan. Any thoughts experience...
Thanks

My buddy had a 348 we use to frequently track and autocross. We called it the Fiat, it pretty much sucked.
They are cool because they are retro-80's feeling and they are pretty much classics. There's potential there, but their pretty poor performers stock
Get the 355, and get one with a 6 speed.

True, and the 360 is Tiff Neddels (5th Gear) favorite F-car of all time!
Go for the F-car that does not require an engine out to replace the belts every 5 years IF you want to keep it. Remember, a Ferrari that does not have up-to-date maintenance is pretty well worthless if you want / need to sell it !! And that I think takes you to the 360 or later, or prior to the 355. Good luck!!
I had a 1999 355 F1 Spider, and while a neat car, it is just too old. There can be a lot of maintenance issues. I now have a 2003 360 F1 Spider. A world of difference! Hold out for a later model. 360 or 430.
First let me say, buy the car that moves YOU the most. All Ferraris need regular maintenance to keep thier value and performance up and that maintenance ain't cheep. The 348 was the last raw V8 ferrari. No electronics.
That said IMO (biased) you can't beat the 355. In the looks department it beats the 348 and the 360 hands down. It performs much better then the 348 and as good as the 360. The sound of the 355 is intoxicating (5 valve heads screeming at 8200 RPM). It is a much easier car to live with then the 348. Handling, breaking and ride are much more refined over the 348. Power steering, 6 speed trans and ABS are a big + for the 355.
Whatever Ferrari you choose you will be buying a great car. Enjoy.
