Is it possible to get a good one for $100k?
I read that I should stay away from the 05 as they had some issues? I don't think 06 will be around this price.
I did see a 2006 for $115k but it has 35k miles. Is that too many miles?

If you are able to bump your price range 10 to 15k you should have no problem finding exactly what you are looking for.. if you're sticking with 100k be prepared to be patient and expect some miles. As 2006's are out there with miles they are are just harder to come by and often advertised for more money because of the year. Keep in mind when comparing year, mileage and price, that options have a substantial impact on the cost. Color also has an impact on price depending on desirability. If you were looking for a 360 at or around 100k you would be able to find some real gems, just a thought.
As long as the seller has records that show the machine was properly maintained over the years regularly, you should buy with confidence when it comes to higher mileage F430's. After all, these cars were made to be driven. However when buying private party be leery of sellers that don't have other vehicle of similar caliber or sellers that aren't trading up. Sometimes, not always, this can be a sign that things are a little tough and when money's tight maintenance is often the first thing out the window. You can totally disregard that if they have all the service records and can show you that the machine was maintained well... but nothing is scarier than buying a Ferrari that has no paper work, now maint records or receipts. Just a role of the dice.
The same goes with dealerships. Any store, franchise or not, is obligated to preform things like smog and safety, inspections to make sure the vehicle is mechanically sound, and ensure tire and brake levels are above legal limits before sale. The liability is great for dealerships because they are entrusted to carry out all these obligations, so be sure to ask for service records from them as well. Ask for any receipts or invoices that show what work the dealership had carried out on the vehicle while in their possession.
Either way be sure to ask for car-fax and have a PPI done to check over the vehicle mechanically as well as cosmetically. Body work and paint work can be a huge indicator as to how hard the car was used previously
I see that you are somewhat local to CNC motors. If you do find a vehicle you would be interested in buying you can feel free to bring it by our service dep't and one of our technicians can conduct an inspection on the vehicle. These guys are certified professional technicians that are essentially trained to scrutinize every vehicle that comes into our possession.
Good luck with the hunt and let us all know how it is goes!
