A little trick that doesnt necessarily sound safe but in all reality there is plenty of room to do it...I sneak my left foot behind the brake pedal allowing my left leg to straighten completely... dont worry about not being able to press the brakess all the way, there is more than enough room back there....

as far as the headroom goes.. its close, but there is clearance. I have a very long torso so that seat needs to be as far down as possible...

I'm 6'6 220#, proportional upper/lower body. Drove a 430 over the weekend. Plenty of leg and shoulder/hip room. The owner is a pretty large waisted guy. I only had about 1" head room with seat down/back. If I were to track, the seat would need to be modified so I could have a helmet. For street, it was fine. If you're 6'4", will be fine. The 997tt is a better car for less money. GT2 would give RWD for same $$ if that's your thing.

Agree on the Gallardo...hopeless. The R8 and 12C fit well though.

Thanks for additional responses!

Bryce: I think I have heard two type of seats mentioned? All I ever see are the "Daytona" styles. What is the other type, which one has more space for me, and do you have images to compare the two?

Thanks in advance for your superb assistance, as well as everyone else in this thread!

There's actually 3 different styles of seats that are available...

When you order a Ferrari, it obviously comes with seats so if you don't upgrade, there's just the "standard" seats. There's the "Daytona" seats that I would safely say 95% of F430's come in with. Then there's the racing seats that have the carbon fiber back. The Racing seats are a little on the "Far and Few between" side. Definitely more room in the racing seats, smaller backing, less padding. With the Standard and the Daytona's they are pretty similar as far as thickness so you're not really gaining or loosing room between the two...

To answer your question as short as possible...

3: Standard, Daytona and Sport seats... Sport seats help provide the most room

Does Ferrari build the seats in house or contract them out to someplace like Recaro? Is it possible to buy the non branded seats and install them? Of course save the original seats for sale in the future.

I am 6' 2" and about 265. I am all torso with a 31.5 inseam. I could not sit in a 430 with racing seats without my head touching the roof and the racing seats are lower than the other seats. Very annoying. I owned a 458 (Daytona seats) & had no such problem. I've owned many Porsches and had to order the sunroof delete option in my 996 Turbo. No such problem with the 997.

My exact car right down to colors and interior - Did you get this from a dealer in the area? That exact car was on their website before. The name escapes me. The carfax's match.
