Question Fit in 430?

Hi guys, in the context of me being 6'4" - 275#'s, what are the chances I will fit comfortably in a 430?

Tried a Lambo Gallardo, and it was way too small for any kind of comfort!

Any assistance appreciated from the 6speeders.

if you fit in a 911 anything you will have plenty of space. My dealer that test drove me was 6'5, prob 225lbs, more athletic, then round.

If I get a chance I'll take my bro-in-law for a spin, he's 6'6 290lbs.

Thank you, that would be a good test!

I'm 6'7" 240 and I can put my head on the headrest without my hair rubbing on the ceiling.. hope that helps... With leg room respectfully.. Its comfortable enough to the point where I can drive aggressively. It gets a little tighter in a spider actually, but coupes are good.

I would also say that theres actually probably a little more room in the 911's as the seats go back and down into the boards...the 430 Seats sink down as well but I sink waaaay down in the 911 and can get it to the point where my legs are almost straight reaching for the pedals. My legs are easily bent in the 430.. but regardless, I can fit comfortably in the 430...

Bryce, how much do the factory sports seats help with head room? I'm 6'4" all torso. I have a 996 gt3 with the euro seats and can fit with a helmet.

In the 430's, the sport seat (or race seat) makes for a few extra inches of leeway. But in the Daytona's I still fit decently.. actually the explanation I was giving was based off of a Daytona seat, so the sport seat should be too easy.

Honestly, I wish you guys lived closer.. I'd welcome you to the shop and have you sit in a couple so you could see how they felt....

If you want ill go sit in a few and have a co-worker take a couple pictures so you can see where the space is, and where the space is lacking...

I'm 6'4 250 and built big (i.e. not fat, very wide shoulders) and I found the 430 to be relatively comfortable. I don't own one, but was looking at buying one a few years ago and test drive one (and a 360, which is slightly smaller inside) for probably 30 miles each in both city and highway traffic, so I got a pretty good idea on how well a big guy would fit. In general, the room inside it was similar to my Turbo, but with one marked difference: The bottom of the dash/knee board got in the way of my legs when I was just trying to be comfortable and there was no real space away from the pedals (it was a flappy paddle so no clutch pedal taking up space either) to put my legs comfortably, so I would definitely pay attention to that dimension. The other thing was I found it very difficult to get any sort of view of the driver's side blind spot. It was very hard to move my big body around in the car to see. I ended up just basically checking my mirror and then hitting the gas hard when I changed lanes to make sure I didn't cut somebody off.

I ended up sticking with my Turbo because it was just as fast as the 430 (and is now much faster with upgrades!) and otherwise just wasn't really any sort of improvement over my Turbo, other than the "Ferrari" badge (whoop dee do, who cares) and the better steering feedback due to the RWD (which is excellent in the Porsche anyway, so I'm splitting hairs). Last thing is when I climbed back in my Turbo to go home, I realized how many more little things it had that made it comfortable for a big guy. It definitely has more room than the 430 in every single way in the driver's seat, and has better visibility too with that ****pit of glass in the 911.

I also tried a Gallardo and like you said it was hopeless. I felt like a sardine and don't think I could have easily used the clutch or brakes since my knee hit the steering wheel and there was no room to the left of it either to get my knee up since the space between the door and wheel was so tight. I ended up in an Aston Martin and that had plenty of room finally.

So the verdict on the 430 for tall guys: I think there was enough room in the driver's compartment that I could have been ok buying / driving the car, though as I said on long road trips I think I would have been really cramped. The knee board was the most limiting obstruction / dimension to physically being able to drive the car since I had to **** my right leg at a weird angle to fit under the board and press the gas or brakes.

That would be nice. I guess dealers need to makes sure tire kickers don't joy ride their cars but some of us would like to know how well we'd fit before starting the buying / saving process.

Well, looks fairly positive for my fit. Need to get somewhere and actually sit/drive to confirm! I would be looking for a convertible, and occasional use only, NOT a DD.

Thanks everyone for your comments.

More observations welcomed.

This is my view. Looks tight, but there is about 3-4" of space between my shin and that lower leg panel.. as well as 3-4" of space between the right side of my right leg and the center console.
