Ive done allot of debate over this. In the long term (10+ years) the Speciale will be the way to go. In the short term it will drop in value. If you get the 488 now you can drive it for a year, sell it and probably make money or at least break even (while having a car that will blow the speciale away most likely given the difference in specs). I think its a long term vs short term question I'm going for the 488 for now since I cant afford to buy the Speciale and park it somewhere for a couple of decades. If you can...do it! Its definitely a good long term investment car!

Just my 2 cents.

The 458 is looking its age, 488 (no brainer)
Now if you are just considering future long term value, Speciale is the way to go.

hmm... since your father already has a 2014 458, if it were me... I would sell the 458, and buy both the 488 and speciale!

Two wonderful cars, Speciale may have less performance but offset with more emotions.Since your dad already have a 458 best is to wait until the 488 Speciale for full enjoyments.
