Speciale or 488 GTB?

So this is a little crazy, I am having a hard time processing the move myself. But recently my father was put on the list to receive a speaciale around june/july time frame. Well the moment the 488 GTB was announced I sent him a link to the reveal of the car. He changed his order within a day to the 488.

My question is, does everyone think thats a good idea? The faster car yes, I think better looking. But the value of the car will more than likely be different seeing as one is for sure a limited edition and unsure about the GTB.

He currently has a 2014 458 Italia

Speciale. Not even a contest.

GT3 rs or 911 turbo.

Always the rs.

And by the way two completely different cars.

I know they are to different cars, but from a performance over value look is the GTB better. The Speaciale is actually slower around a track then the GTB anyhow, its more of the fact the speaciale will hold its value better? But is that worth it for a newer faster car?

Get the last Ferrari that had a manual transmission, bet those may increase in value. However, this is the best looking Ferrari since the 288 GTO and the performance seems like it will match the looks.

I'm sure the 488 GTB is light years ahead; the change is huge. It's not even incremental.
For driving the 488 GTB.

If you have a longer vision time horizon, I suspect all the limited edition NA Ferraris to go up in value. Has anyone see the prices of the 360 CS?

Three pedal Ferraris are already skyrocketing, like the three pedal F430s.

Agreed. If buying right now, I'd get a Speciale.

I would go for the Speciale as well. It will be a limited numbers car and the last of the NA V-8s.

he already owns a 2014 458 so no reason to loose money on a slightly newer car

I have to say, I wish I was faced with this choice. Good luck with whichever car you get. Respectfully requesting pics!

Seems like the OP's father wants the empirically "best" option. In that case the 488 will be that, but the question is will it be satisfying in the way that he wants... They seem like they will feel like very very different cars considering how similar they should be. I would likely lean towards the Speciale. Doubly so when considering that any turbo engine they produce right now will be smoked by the next version in a few years.
