Trying to make a decision between 765LT and F8. I use to have several Ferrari's 456GT, 550, 430 and 458 but have switched to McLaren's after my first McLaren 570S and currently own no Ferrari's. I loved my 570 but traded it in for a 600LT and will be trading the 600LT in for a 620R that's on order. I do also have a 720S. I also have a 991 GT3RS, Speedster and 718 GT4. The GT4 I got for track days where there are not that many fast cars out. Debating between the 765LT or F8 at the moment. Just want to get some perspective on this decision. I do regularly track all my cars except for the Speedster of course.
You have better insight than I do, but the 765LT is supposed to be a lighter, higher powered and more track focused version of the 720S. Meanwhile the F8 is more street focused than the equally powered Pista. In my mind the F8 isn't a direct competitor.
Question, can you tell that the McLarens have open differentials when driving and is it ever an issue at corner exit or even on the street with tire spin due to uneven surfaces?
Thanks in advance!

I have never had any spin issues with the 600LT or 720S. I have tracked GT3, GT3RS, GT4, F430 and 458 before. I would say I am a fairly experienced driver on the track and push pretty hard asI have had some racing experience before. They all have their own handling characteristics but have never had issues with McLaren's coming out of corners. I actually find McLaren's quite fun to drive on the track and the 720S is extremely quick and easy to drive fast.
You are spot on with your analysis. Having owned several Ferraris and a few Mclarens the F8 is most definitely a street focused car. The Pista and 765LT would be the better comparison.

I own a tuned 488 and have driven a couple 765's. The 765 is a blast to drive.. That said, if resale money is no object the 765 is more exotic looking and likely outperforms the F8 in most categories.. If resale money is an issue I say the F8 and twice on Sunday. Ferrari will hold its value MUCH better and the F8 looks to be Ferrari's last 100% internal combustion supercar as the market is headed towards hybrid which I believe will position the F8, and 488's very well in the future.
That said, have you considered looking for a Pista? The Pista will wax the 765 in all aspects except maybe a 1/4 drag race and the Pista is destined to be a collector class vehicle. I wish i could have afforded a Pista but just could not justify the extra $100k, in retrospect i probably should have just done it.

I have an F8 and couldn’t be happier. I would never take a McLaren over a Ferrari but I would like to possibly add a 720 spider. I am just concerned about their financial condition and their reliability is pretty bad.
