Florida Testarossa

I live near the Sebring racetrack and I have owned a 1988.5 Testarossa since 1995. I just got it back from a major service and it does not feel right.....can't get it into first gear from neutral at a stop. My renowned mechanic drove 3 hours to my home to see if he could adjust this issue and spent a couple of hours ....I think there is still a problem. Yes the car was sitting in his shop for 1.5 years and maybe I am just not used to this finicky gated shifter.....I just want somebody who is experienced to drive my car who knows this car well..

Congrats on keeping that Testarossa all these years that’s a beautiful machine. If it’s tough getting into first from neutral, even after adjustment, it could be clutch drag or a shift linkage alignment issue (pretty common after a long sit).Since you’re near Sebring, you might reach out to Tim Stanford in Fort Lauderdale or Scuderia Rampante if they’re within reach both have deep TR experience.Definitely worth having someone who really knows these cars take it for a short drive; they’ll tell right away if it’s just stiffness from sitting or something mechanical.
