I had the opportunity to see 9 of the 28 FXX's built on the track at the same time and them see them up close & open in the pits. It was unbeleivable. Such a sick car!

Doesn't Ferrari say that you have to sell the car back to them?

That is ridiculous on so many levels...

First, if the buyer didn't buy it from Ferrari, they can't participate in the Client program. Second, there is no factory support (for all of those exotic extras) if not purchased directly from Ferrari. Third, it's not (and can't be made) road legal, so it's basically a $3,000,000 garage queen.

I guess if that's your bag, but for me, I'd take a Veyron, an F50, an LP640, a Zonda F, etc. etc. for the money.

I am sure that whoever has the dough to lay out for this beast doesn't mind not having Ferrari support. If have 3mill to buy a car with, you have however much to maintain it, store it, trailer it to the track etc etc....

That's partially true, but many of the parts on the FXX are experimental (hence the X in FXX). Because of that, unless Ferrari wants to play nice (which they're not known for), the prospective buyer could be assed-out if the moveable aero parts, the special engine parts, etc. break.

I don't care how rich you are, you'd be hard pressed to get some custom fabrication to duplicate the parts.

If I had the money to buy it, I'd contact Ferrari, explain the situation, ask them what needs to be done to get the dominus ominus from them, and then proceed. It's just too much money for a living room ornament.

Not entirely true, there is a way to have it made street legal. I'll leave it at that.

No kidding, right? For me, it's completely wishful thinking.

As far as making it road legal, I am curious how they'd get a US DOT VIN...
