With my ex 996 C4S(tiptronic) i was beating F355's starting from stand.

But 360 modena was pulling me hardly after 120-130kmh.(i had the advantage of AWD at start)

For 360 vs 997S should be a tough challenge. And i think 360 modena will slightly pull 997S (manual)

But CS must be manual if it is triptonic 360 modena will begin to pull early

I think there is more variety in performance with fcars due to their more handbuilt nature. Pcars of course are more moderately rated in terms of power and, in my opinion, are more consistent in their build and construction.

That said, I will race my 2000 euro 360 against any 997s for pinks. Anytime. Not saying it would not be a close race, but just to put it out there that I know from owning and driving most of the pcars, that the euro 360 will take it all the way through the range. Now, if the 997 is sc'ed.........

I think i will be able to pull away from a 360. After getting the GIAC done and putting on the muffler bypass pipes (50 + lbs saving), it just might be enough to walk away.. Hey but you never know, thast why i really really want to do a comparison.

Why do you want to know so bad if you can beat a 360? Just curious? Sounds to me like you wish you would have bought one. Instead of trying to race one, you should go test drive one and most likely you will be selling your c2s and buying a 360. that is what happened to me. was set on buying a c4s but for 30k more got the car of my dreams which will probably depreciate much less.

If a 997S is faster than a 996TT, I wouldve bought that instead , but I didnt cause it's not...I drove both back to back before making the decision..
but then I dont keep my cars long enough maybe I dont count

I have heard about many cases where a 997S has kept up with and actually beat a 996tt from a standstill and low gear rolls..I actually went head to head with a 996tt couple weeks ago.. was not impressed at all. I was right ther with it 2nd and 3rd, thats when he let off,..And later we both floored it on 3rd gear untill 4th and i was right hter with it again.. weird.

.I dont know why ther are no videos of a 997s vs a 996tt or a 997S vs a 360. A 360 is probably a little faster then a 997S but a 997S with minor bolts ons should hold its own.

Spot-on Gary. That's how I see the 360 vs. the 997 as well.

how is that even possible? the TT has more HP and significantly more torque (especially down low) and runs lower quarter mile times with higher trap speeds....

BTW: you should add more stuff to your sig. a half page isn't nearly long enough

I believe it.. The turbo is noticeably heavier (over 200 pounds), and the gearing on the 997S is a little more aggresive. Given equal drivers the 996tt will pull away at any given point, but if that was not the case, i wouldnt doubt the 997S being able to seriously keep up or maybe even pass in the lower gears. Ive had some play time with a 996tt and they are not as fast as everyone thinks.
