thanks. hard to compare the acceleration of the cs with the 993tt or 996tt. the whole experience is different: the 996tt is modded with a spi L2 package and although it only dynoed at 462 (at the wheels on a mustang dyno) it's violent in it's acceleration to me. the driving experience with the cs is sublime --- 40 valves on a small v8 engine that redlines at 8500. you just feel more involved and you come to understand how some have called the cs a 'baby enzo'. also whereas i love my ipod in the 996tt not for a minute would i ever consider turning on the radio in the cs. the f430 has more hp for sure and the f1 is better no doubt, but the lines are off --- the air scoops on the rear fenders on the 430 are overly exagerated and i dont like the air intake holes in the front bumber. these are minor issues. finally as far as future resale value, i think the cs depreciation curve will be less steep and has the potential (if you buy well) to flatten out.

more hp and better f1 doesn't mean faster. the cs is quoted dry to weigh only 2602 lbs. here's some lap times that show the cs is faster than a f50, 430 and a scuderia.

here's a post today from ferrari chat from a guy that owns a 458, f40, 288gto and CS.

I've started to write and hit backspace about 5 times, I'm just not sure how to answer this. How about a scenario where it's a nice Sunday morning, say 6:30am and the sun is just coming up. Fall day, leaves are changing and you've had a few cups of coffee and read the paper. Now it's time to go for a drive, which car do you take?

The F40 and 288 GTO are legendary and evoke different driving experiences and emotions just because of what they are, so I'm going to say they are equal. F40 is louder and more work than the GTO and I would take the CS before the 458. The 458 is terrific but not the same feel (weight & balance & engine note) and the CS I think wins on excitement over the Italia.

Gosh I LOVE this thread!

I've been looking for a low mileage un-molested Stradale for a while as this is the only F-car I would replace my NSX with....

Where does one go to find nice used examples besides Ebay. I'm looking for a yellow Stradale

thanks
rick

I love these cars too. Are they more expensive to maintain than a regular F360 w/F1 trans? i.e. belts, fluids, etc.
