Excellent school for Engineering, I'm sure you've found out. I loved it - good balance of partying and academics IMHO - at least you could avoid the parties if you had to

Some shots of the garage with the roof trusses on. Starts to give it some scale with my wife in the picture. You can't see too much with it being dark and this point and shoot camera blows.

They're working today and it's going to be -11F with a -20F or so wind-chill. Here's a shot of the garage-side of the house from the street. My land extends to about where I'm shooting from. The house on the left will be torn down in the Spring and turned into a chipping green Unfortunately you can't see the cool walk-out area in the back

Which is Ironic since the style we're shooting for is called Tuscany with some Medieval castle themes in the wine-cellar and entry, Irish pub downstairs, stucco, big wrought iron rails and and outdoor-sconces used inside, etc...

Good timing, I was about to come back here for a few questions.

One of the garages has a high ceiling to make room for a hoist. Can I get an overhead door that runs on tracks close to the ceiling instead of suspended a ways down?

Also, seems like the liftmaster side-mounted openers are the way to go and eliminate that center shaft? How does aux lighting work on those?

Where is a good place to order them online, or will I get roughly the same deal from some local garage-door sub?

Anyways, here is what I have work with:

Wow! I can't wait to see the finished project! Once you get your lift installed, if you need a grease monkey to kick some tires with you, let me know!
