Need help with my garage ceiling setup
Need help with my garage ceiling setup
I'm currently in escrow on a house where I need to completely upgrade the wide 2 car garage. As you can see below, the previous owner left it a total mess. I'm going to have the walls drywalled and painted, new carriage style garage door installed, floor epoxy'd gray, but I didn't know what to do with the garage ceiling.
I'd like to keep some storage space up there, but didn't know how to do it while still making it look clean. Does anyone have any suggestions what I should do? (any photos or links would be much appreciated as well)

Sheet the attic floor and install a drop down/foldable ladder. Add a few flourescent light fixtures, and you'll get alot more add'l storage that's hidden and out of the way. That's what we did in our attic, and gained ~1,500 sq ft. of usable storage space. We store stuff that we don't need very often ie. suitcases, Christmas stuff, etc.
Thanks for the reply. I'm trying to make the interior look like an F1 garage look, so if anyone knows where to find reasonably affordable cabinets like the ones in the photo below, please share. I know the words "F1" and "affordable" do not mix
Haha, yeah. Those words don't usually mix.
What I am using on my new build is Ikea kitchen cabinets. As long as you are not storing huge heavy items in the drawers (within reason) you should be fine. Plus they have a bunch of finishes available from wood grain/piano black to custom colors.
You may have to get creative on the drawer pulls if you want it to look exactly like that (though some Ikea ones are close) but they do sell a nice stainless steel counter top.
Plus since its Ikea, it is very cost effective...
Food for thought!
