garage prep and metal beams question

I have an RV carport that I converted into a garage...meaning that it still has the metal beams running down/up/across and I want to do something with the floors.

I used Griot's Garage paint in my main garage and it works fine enough - but the prep with the muriatic acid will turn my metal to rust. So, any other options for prepping that anyone knows of?

Here is a quick pic of the beams that I don't want to rust away...

You local Home Depot or Lowes may rent the mechanical etcher you need so you don't have to use a chemical. You may want to check into that.
