You guys with epoxied garage floors and lifts...

...did you epoxy the floor first and then drill holes to install your lift(s) after? Or did you install your lifts(s) first and then epoxy around everything?

I have an epoxy floor and it's...ok even if they say "no hot tire pickup" it still pulled up where my tires sit overnight. And I cleaned the concrete to perfection before painting it. So buy the best expoy paint you can get to try to get the best adhesion possible. But outside of the tire pickup the stuff is pretty durable. I'd paint first, install lift second. It would make for a much cleaner install. I don't think it come up like a rubber sheet if you drill into it if this is your concern and if you keep the paint can sealed it will stay liquidy for a while so you can touch it up.

Thanks...that was my gut feeling, but had to ask...I have to paint/epoxy around stairs, columns, etc anyway...so I figured it wouldn't be an inconvenience.

What floor epoxy did you do?

I'm interested to hear as well since the lift arrived before I had a chance to do the floor!

Yeah, I'm seriously considering blowing off the floor...it seems like a LOT of work (my floor is 50x50) and there seems to be no guarantees that it will stick and stay nice...

Had mine done by premier garage and it's perfect and warranted. Its really a high end floor and way above the paint and epoxy kits at the hardware stores.
