My Garage

Here are some pics of my recent garage project. Painted the walls, put down Racedeck XL tiles, and installed track lighting. Still waiting for a Porsche flag to be delivered to hang on the back wall. Of course the centerpiece is parked inside. The garage will fit two cars a little tightly but my truck may be relegated to parking outside unless the weather is really bad.

Thanks. All my stuff is stored away in the cabinets. I have a tall tool box tucked away to the right near the garage door. I prefer the clean and sterile look. Besides, the garage is not that big to have a lot of junk laying around.

I received my Porsche flag/banner yesterday.

I ordered it on Ebay. Pretty cheap. Good enough quality for hanging on the wall. I used white upholstery tacks.

How do you like the floor? I was thinking of getting that, but ended up just painting it with a special garage floor paint. Scared of that being too hard to clean.

I like it. When I walk across it in my shoes or boots it makes a clomp sound but that doesn't bother me. Cleaning it hasn't been a problem so far. It sweeps up easy and a mop would clean it up real good if needed. I'm not leaking oil or anything so I don't know if it would stain or not yet. You could hose it off too but I'm not sure what the long term effects of water staying underneath the tiles might be. Arizona won't have a problem with mold but maybe more wet and humid areas would trap water and smell. Overall I'm very pleased.

Got them from Racedeck. They have different prices depending on the type of tile you get. For me I paid $7.99/tile for the XL.

Thanks! I really love the look and function of the garage now. It is exactly what I had envisioned in my mind.

Thanks! Yep, Arizona. We just purchased our home the beginning of December. I'm actually out in Queen Creek. I'll have to stop by your store sometime.

A small note... I have the door ramp edging along my garage door and because of the disparity of expansion and contraction between the large 18" floor tiles and the smaller 4" ramp tiles I noticed that when I raised my garage door after a cool morning and the sun shining in quickly heated up the black tiles and it would buckle in a couple places along the front. I simply trimmed about 1/16th inch off the ends of a couple of the offending ramp edging tiles with a sharp utility blade without cutting the locking tabs/loop. This way the edge tiles have room to "float" but still be connected. (if that makes any sense)

Added a pic with both of my vehicles inside. Easily fits both but I always park the truck outside anyway and let the Porsche hog up the middle of the space. It makes the garage feel more like another room in the house instead of a utility space.
