I'm lucky enough to be building a new home and with it an attached 4 car garage. An element I am still deciding on is the lift. One goal for the garage is to give me enough space to finally do some real mechanical work on my vehicles and eventually I would like to restore a vehicle.

What would you guys recommend for a lift given the use I have in mind?

I have a four-post Backyard buddy lift with added center plates to cover the open area between the wheels. My thinking is that I can store my riding mower and snowblower if I don't keep a car up there. The center plates are removable so I can access the car from the bottom. The downside is that since you have to drive up to the lift, the wheels don't dangle like it's in a two post lift. So I still need a jack for the wheel/brake work. I keep four cars in a three car garage. You can see from the picture there is plenty of ceiling to double stack and make it a six car garage!
