There is no padding under RaceDeck.It lays right on the cement floor with maybe a 1/2" raise.That allows liquids to flow out and not accumulate under the flooring.

some people don't like the clickety clack noise it makes when walking on it though. doesn't bother me though, i'm used to it now.

Looks great, I did the racedeck in my garage and it makes a world of a different.

i added the underlayment from home depot (100 sf for $25). its much softer to walk on also and the "clickety clack" is gone. sounds more like hardwood now than plastic.

I wish I had my own house so I could go crazy with the garage

That or make my parents let me take over the garage we currently have...but that won't happen anytime soon
