With all due respect why wouldn't Porsche have done such a thing for such significant gains? This seems (to me) too good to be true...

Matt
No offense taken, however, there are a multitude of reasons why Porsche wouldn't have produced the piece like this. We hear this quetsion often from our customers but the fact is that Porsche is in the business of making money and in order to make a bigger profit, they are going to use more cost effective materials wherever they can. The piece needs to be mass producable and cheap. In addition to that, every company needs to make improvements every few years in order increase performance and keep the car fresh. More than anything, like I mentioned earlier, if you search "RSS Plenum" on this forum you will find several members that have dynoed independently with gains akin to RSS' claims.

I thought I saw at one time this was offered for the 2.5 986. I did not see it on the website. Has this been made for the 2.5 986? If so is it still available?

I personally love it, I have a plenum v-flow combo and it's great. I also have an extended warranty on my car, but my service writer is cool about it.
