Porsche All Red Taillights 997 CRAZY DEAL
I'm glad they don't. I think the all-red covers look cheap and I'd be scouring the net for proper-colored taillights if all red was the standard.
Probably because many people, including myself, don't think the all red tail lights look that great. In fact, I don't like them at all on silver or grey cars but that's just my opinion.
Another reason is because it is a big trend on the import side and many Euro fans don't want to imitate. I think it looks good on a white car, but as Da Hapa mentions - it looks a bit odd on grey and silver cars.
Are they all red only when not lit up?
ie. When the turn light is on they blink amber, yes? And when in reverse, the light is white?
Agree that P should have gone LED a long time ago...

I find it funny that people want all red lights to replace their stock amber/red/white lights. Back in the day, all US spec 911s came with red lights and people ordered pricey Euro spec amber/red/white lights from Germany. That said, I like the red lights too.

I Think the trend is to get what others don't have.
if stock is all red we want clears.
if stock is clears then we want red.
I like the all red. i think it will look great on white car.
Someone do it quick.

Hi 2thfixr, if you are referring to my remarks about retro-fitting the facelift LED tails, do you have a source for that claim? I'm not aware any specs of the facelift are available yet (at least not to that level of detail). But I'm happy to learn.
The facelifted rear end has LED taillights that are a slightly different shape than the current ones. There is a little dip into the bumper area like the Cayenne facelift. All of the spy shots are showing a taped area covering the extension of the lights in to the bumper area, the lower part of the bumper is different as well.

Is this $485 deal still available?
I have a silver 997 S wit red tail lights and I love it!Here's a pic:
It is good to have choices to fit each owners vision...I think the "all reds" look great on red cars.....but also note that Porsche is moving in the opposite direction adding more clear, rather than red, to their taillights. The Sport Classic has only a narrow strip of red at the bottom and the majority of the light is clear led.
