I drove the Super Sports on the track for the first time this past week in very rainy conditions. I thought the grip was terrific. Read my report here: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ml#post3288267. I haven't tried them yet on a dry track but will later this month.

I haven't used MPSC so I can't make any comparison to them. For me, having separate dedicated street tires and track tires is not in the cards for now.

I have many sets of extra rims & tires for my racecar. I do not want to have an extra set for the GT3, especially if I only do about 10 track days a year. So, I'm hoping the PSS's prove to be really good at the track.

I did not like my MPSC's at all. Lots of understeer (cold & warm) and oversteer once too warm. Way happier with my Bridgestone RE-11's. However, love my R6's much more! Haven't got enough use out of the R6's to give you overall life expectancy report. I have a little tire/track thread as welll. There might be be some good info for you there. My friend is running MPSC's on his 996 TT and he is quite happy...

Hey Vid997, nice driving there at the Hill. Man, I saw a 105 before T8, how fast do you go through there? I can only muster about 95 going through... About your RE-11's, so you think those 305's might be undersized on that 12" OEM .2 GT3 rim? You say that the PS2's are about an inch wider, how about the Cups? Narrower, same? I wonder about the new Super Sports, how wide are they? When you look at the Michelin sizing chart, they actually recommend a 11.5" max rim for the 305's. Maybe that's why they're not "N"-rated yet?

Funny, I noticed the sizing too. My shop also said "are these the right size?!"

VID997: out of curiosity, what kind of lap times were you doing at LS on the RE-11's in the dry?

I've got a lot room for improvement there...T3 scares me because every time I come around I never know what will be there, a car that spun or debris all over the inside, plus it's kind of blind and off camber. I just need to build more confidence/trust there. T5a, got me, but I'm slow there as well. T6, I feel I can be much faster there as well. I just can't seem to figure out the correct entry line therefore my car feels like its on the edge of traction before hitting the apex.

RE: T8 & T9, I too was a bit surprised with those entry speeds... speed through isn't much slower if you watch the video's when Ecthhead hit 105 my car is pulling and the gap never closed plus I believe all my braking had been done and I'm on the gas at the point.

RE: RE-11's, I actually run the Bridgestones on a pair Champion Motorsport RS 171's which are 11.5" wide. When I was running MPSC's on my GT2/GT3RS OEM wheels they were 305's. Currently I have Hoosier R6's on the rears which are 315's/235 up front. Barry (ruf_turbo) had mentioned the "contact patch" was about an inch narrower on the RE's vs the MPSC's. My CUPs were N1 rated I believe. Not too familiar with the specs on the SS and PS2's.

Cheers

Fastest dry time for me there is a 1:41 in point-by traffic and lifting for sound. Haven't had much luck with weather there this year...wet and cold every time so far...Hoping to break into the 1:39's and I'll be happy that...remember as everyone puts it "a fat turbo is just a bankers car" ... its a street car with street tires...don't think thats too bad of a time....

Infineon 1:54's

Still learning everywhere!

WOW! I cant believe you can get the fronts (265's) to work. My GT2/GT3RS rims with 235/35/19 R6's with 7mm spacer barely fit. My car is lowered as well.

To Clarify VID997 Set-up GT2/GT3RS OEM RIMS:
Fronts: 8.5 x 19 offset 53 with 235/35’s MPSC’s tires mounted
Rears: 12.0 x 19 offsets 51 with 305/30’s MPSC’s tires mounted

Fronts: 8.5 x 19 offset 53 with 235/35’s Hoosier R6's mounted
Rears: 12.0 x 19 offsets 51 with 315/30’s Hoosier R6's mounted

Champion RS 171's RIMS:
Fronts: 8.5 x 19
offset 53 (I think) with 235/35’s RE-11’s tires mounted
Rears: 11.5 x 19 offsets 44 with 305/30’s RE-11’s tires mounted

I was thinking the same, 325/245 on 19's with a GT3? RS okay so is the GT2 (both widebodies). I tried to figure this out a while ago whether I could mount 245/325-19 Bridgestones on my '11 GT3 (actually cheaper than those 235/305-19 Cups) BUT -apparently per some knowledgable folks on Rennlist- my "rear" is not wide enough to accommodate those tires (rubbing etc.) even though I have the 12" wheels -same as the RS-.; front is okay, could accommodate even 265's. What I haven't figured out yet is whether 315's would fit (I think RE-11's come in that size, I forget) -or even 325- with street (standard) camber? I'm afraid not...
VID997: re laptimes, 1:54 for Infineon is not too shabby :-). And you're right, those Turbos are underrated...:-).
