997 Gt2s have take such a hit

I have a pristine 2008 Gt2 for sale with modifications done by Champion Motorsports. I can't believe I have had no takers at $128K when the car only has 3k miles, black on black with a 210K MSRP. Not to mention I have close to $30K in mods in this car!

Can someone explain this to me????

That is a damn good looking car you've got there.

I think this is what you get when an $18k 996C2 and $210k 997GT2 look almost identical to the average buyer.

You have a niche car. There is the perfect buyer, but you may have to be as patient as they are to sell at your price.

Makes no sense to me. Your car is an unbelieveable bargain at that price and those mods. Maybe the color or that they need to finance it through a dealership since its hard to get financing thru the banks for anything now, and many do not have the full amount outright....just my thoughts.
What are you getting next by the way?

Don't worry...I paid $129K last month for my 08 GT2 with 23000km (14500miles) on it...I basically bought it for the lease buy out...the original floor price was $268K!!!
I found out many cars ago that buyers rarely consider your mods into the buying price...I actually look for autos as original as possible
It is a niche car...the right buyer will come at the right time...

I just don't understand. I am the lowest priced GT2 in the market right now and I have had not hits. The car has been listed for 3 weeks now. I have had several dealerships low ball me or offer to consign the car for me.

I was contemplating trading both my cars in for a 2011 Gt2RS, but I am hesitant since that car is falling in price rapidly as well. I don't want to take another $60K bath in a year.

The dealership is saying my 2011 GT3 RS is worth $118K with a $167K sticker. I added the racing harness, GMG roll cage and GMG exhaust. This is such BS!! Picture below...

I saw your ad, it's a gorgeous car and don't let the low ballers get to you. A buyer will come up for a car of this caliber. Just a suggestion would be to part it out for stock, it's a hassle I know, but you might get more $$ out of it.

I was actually looking at that, but pulled the trigger on a gt3 rs. For the same price. I was torn, and the price is great, just like the look and the sound of the rs. But your car is definitely worth it.

As others have mentioned, sell off the parts for more money. Many buyers do not think that all the money we put in mods, is worth extra cost to them. I feel differently and would get a modded car like this, over a stock one.
Your car is already more powerful than a 2RS, all you would need is to lighten its weight and put a better suspension and you got the best 2.
Why are you selling both your 2 and 3 for. Do I smell a 458 or Mclaren in your future?

Gorgeous car. If you can, be patient. The buyer is out there. Mods are threatening to the uninformed. Private sale finance is more challenging for some buyers. If I didn't already have one I'd take it off your hands. It's a steal at that price.

3 weeks is a short time for a car like that. Be patient and the right buyer will come along. I think your car is a good one and someone is going to want it - I sure would like to have it!

I have experience. That's the GT2 market. The 2RS will be the same. It's mainly due to the economy, but it still happens. A dealer can get way more for the car than an individual.

Agree that 3 weeks is a very short period. $128k is exceptionally low for this car. Buyers are few and far between and you are misinterpreting that for a reflection of it's proper price point. You could have it at $115k and in this economy, it would still sit. Jack up the price and be patient, you'll get the right price. Do you have an aftermarket exhaust you are interested in selling? Might be interested. PM if you are and glws.

++to the two above posters, with the additional personal opinion that GT2RS may be having a negative effect on GT2 resales. You have a beautiful, tasteful, well-done car intelligently modded by the best in the business. But.....the world is not full of potential buyers for it. They ARE out there, though, so don't despair. Market it smartly...through 6speed, for instance. Have a refreshing adult beverage. Your guy's on the way.

Dont feel bad..it will sell. I have a 07 599 with 2.4K miles, HGTE kit added plus other extras and the dealers just low ball you. I have a semi-interested buyer in Canada and IF it sells I will be buying a GT2.
There is a yellow 08 GT2 at my F-car dealership for 144,900 and it has sat for a while now....I want to trade for it but they wont give me crap on my car and I refuse to give it away;thats because I do like it and Iam not rich, lol. I know you will find buyers for both cars. Kevin
