Unhappy Bad luck at Road America

I saw these pictures of this black 997 GT3 on the CorvetteForum where apparently two C6 Z06's also had incidents this weekend. The story was that this happened in the kink...

No, I think he's taking it to the body shop to get it fixed.

Hi Mo, my car is better than ever, I just keep enjoying it more. I don't know whose car above that was, I didn't take those pictures, I just saw them on the corvetteforum. Road America was fast! Can't wait to do that track again. Doing LAPS today, full circuit at the 'Bahn... maybe I'll see you out there?

I thought the blue painters tape provided more protection than that...

Doesn't look too bad. Hope he can get the car relatively quickly back to the track!

Remember that there are two kinds of track drivers...those who have and those who haven't yet made a mistake

Man that sucks. Does insurance cover track accidents like this or is there some sort of extra coverage you can get?

getting "extra coverage" depends on the state you live in, your insurance carrier, and being upfront about your potential stong inclination for going to the track.

Wow, I looked atthe first pic and was going to say it wasn't that bad. Then I scrolled down and saw the front fender. I am sure it will be back in shape in no time though. Thankfully, it was not more serious and that this person is using the GT3 as it should be used.

YOU CANNOT GO FLAT OUT THROUGH THE KINK WITHOUT SERIOUS DOWNFORCE.....GT3 Cup's do not have enough wing for it either. Only open wheel cars, and Daytona Prototype seem to have enough downforce to go flat out through there......There's a reason its one of the trickiest bends in the country

(note this does not pertaine to spec racers, and mazda miatas)

Glad to see the car is being used though.

Pretty fortunate I'd say.
The speeds (and the concrete) that the Kink are known for, usually produce worse than that.

Do you have the link to the Corvette forum where this was discussed?
