My fault, I spent a lot of my time growing up overseas where people sent their condolences when an actual person died.

But why cry and be sad? Like people say on here, everything is replaceable, he'll get some new toys to play with soon. Be happy for him instead.

(I hope im not coming off like an *******.)

Condolonces are customarily given when someone has died, but a condolence is an expression of sympathy, so it is acceptable to say it in this case. Anyway, it doesn't really matter.

Bill,

I'm so sorry to hear this. The house and the cars can be replaced. What's most important is that you and your family are safe and healthy.

Bills post on Rennlist said that the Ruf was not at the house and is fine.

Wow, that must have been an intense fire to melt the whole car including the engines.

Had a few friends loose everything this time around. Tragic...devestating and impossible to comprehend. All have said the same thing....we can replace "things"...we are just happy to be alive. The human spirit...can be....unbreakable.

Perspective.

Several of my clients and friends have lost all their material possesions and Family hierlooms, Pictures, Cherished chilhood art etc. This is a very sad time for thousands. The loss of life, as well, is sobering and tragic. I am sorry to see the cars destroyed, but as others have mentioned, they can be replaced. Insurance will pay out to most folks, but not to the extent they hope. Time and energy will be used for a long time in the clean up efforts.

Some folks are suffering as well from significant smoke inhalation and trama. Our families thoughts and prayers are with all of you who are effected by these events.

I am also angry to think that many, if not all, of these fires were started by Arson. Unless the arsonist is a kid, the person should be hung. People have died! Whether the guy wanted a job or lost a job, whatever.....find the person or persons...and bring justice.

Acknoweldge the fire fighters you know and thank them! As we all drive our GT3s this weekend, give a word of thanks for the life we live and the priviledge we enjoy! Cheers.

Sorry for the loss, but the important thing is that you are okay!!!
We had to evacuate, but fortunately the winds died down before it got too close.
