Pics of a dead GT3RS ....

Originaly post buy Bill on ferrarichat....

Hi guys,

Unfortunately I lost my house and several cars in the Southern California fire. Here's a picture of my CS next to my GT3 RS. The CS completely melted. Only the muffler is left.

The whole time im watching the fires, i cant help but think about all these Carrera GT's and Ferraris that are up in flames in garages there.
I just hope Jay Leno's garage is not threatened.

Glad to hear everyone is OK. Property and material possessions can be replaced.

Trust me, I've been in a fire evacuation before, once the fires whip up, there is NO time. You just have to get out of there. We were lucky in our situation that the fires started small/stable and decided to make a decision to move some valuables (irreplaceable items) and cars to a family's house. However, once the winds whipped up and we were given the order to evacuate, you have very limited time. One minute things are rosy, the other ashes are raining down and you can feel the intense heat.

Real props to the fire fighters! They saved all the houses during our fire and the only property destroyed was a remote police shooting range in the hills.

Wow! that is very sad. Question: Why is the ferrari melted and the RS still has the body? they seem so close, so i am sure the fire was the same temp right next to each other?

I want to know too. The fire should have the same temp within that range??

The only thing I can think of is that the GT3 is steel?, and the 360CS is aluminum and carbon fiber which I would imagine have a lower melting temp. I was reading somewhere that carbon fiber material is highly heat resistant, but I guess the resin that holds it together isn't.
