Why not just give him a ballpark figure? It isnt any more difficult and then nothing comes from it...

I mean if you said it like "A lot (more than I can really afford)", then obviously not you. But it also depends the way he said it. Like curious and admiring your car? Or obnoxious and being rude?

I have been asked that question at least 5 times in the last 3 weeks since I had my car. I decided to just tell people it cost around $100,000. It's either that or I'm going to start telling people it cost a little over a million dollars to see their reaction.
