Major Kudos for the Sharkwerks by=pass muffler system...

It was just installed today at Lucent Motors and Tom did an excellent job as usual -- the fit was excellent.

All I can say is WOW...I thought the car sounded good before with the valves open, but now it's just phenomenal. A tip of the hat to Alex and Sharkwerks for providing a great enhancement for the GT3/RS. This product exceeded my expectations which is a situation that I rarely encounter.

Also, Alex was not embellishing when he said there was little, if any, resonance. Something about that center muffler/chamber -- it actually contributed to the resonance before when I had the valves disconnected.

Btw, the video does not do the aural pleasure of this system/exhaust justice -- the car sounds much better in the flesh than it does in the videos....no kidding.

Congrats, and enjoy. An exhaust that puts a smile on your face is priceless.

Hey Jack, thanks for the feedback and kind words, I'm happy that worked out for you We tried a few different designs but James settled on that one due to the lack of resonance.

I was driving the RS all weekend and even ze wife says she likes the sound now

With the valve closed it's quite similair: you can see from this video:
http://videos.g33kd.net/Preview_GT3_...s_vs_stock.wmv

There really isn't any resonance for just putting around town or when cruising in 6th gear on the freeway. Once you open the valves up there still isn't any resonance but it's just "more" of the mid/high pitch sound that the stock car makes... As Jack said the video doesn't really show the half of it but it's something..

I would agree with Alex and add that with the sport button pressed the car exhibits more of a range of harmonic sounds than before.... the car sounds the way it looks -- HOT.

I can't imagine anyone doing this mod that would not be satisfied -- the car just sounds better (very Porsche race-car like) and you retain the ability to have it be relatively quiet when you want.

I'm sure it was my imagination, but the car also felt a bit 'peppier'. Probably because I kept running it through the gears -- it sounded so goooood.

Jack, so would you say it's "live-able" in daily driving conditions? For example can you carry a normal conversation with this setup?

And most importantly do you have pics/cost of this setup? very curious.....

Hi RK,

You can indeed carry on a conversation just the same as before (no cell phones in LA or anywhere for that matter).

There are some pix, videos and other info here:

Hey rk,

This was one of my major concern with the "straight pipes". I wanted something I can use as a daily and not obnoxious. Sharkwerks' fills all the bills. Even my wife loves the sound. Everyone who's heard it loved it. Doesn't sound like a Porsche...more like a one of them hi-reving V8s.
