Top Gear said the GT3 smashes the new GT2
Love the english carpress for their aproach on sportscars. Therefore love the final conclusion too.
Trying to argue one car over the other is a bit pointless as it really comes down to (driving-) taste. Sure the GT2 is also a great car in overall dynamics, but in the end it apeals more to the straightlineracer (sorry for that guys
) that likes to go through the gears as fast as possible and enjoys the turbopunch.
To me turbopunch feels somewhat artificial and I love the purer feel of natural aspirated engines (sound, revband, throttleresponse).
But, to each his own. Lets be thankful that we do get offered the choice.

I think the title of the thread is a bit over-dramatized, but I can understand where they are coming from and they make it clear why. But to strike fear in the hearts of people when you get on the track, that GT2 on the back of the car carries a lot more weight, since we are dealing with artistic impressions over pure unadulterated brute force.
Since details are scarce, especially independent test on the GT2, my question is this: Does the GT3/RS actually handle/have more grip than the GT2 - givin that the GT2 driver is not on the throttle? The GT3/RS weighs slightly less, GT2 has wider rear tires, but I'm not sure about suspension setup.
I do see the point they make though...

Now performance/$ the GT3 is the best showroom car on the planet IMO. Corvette's arent trustworthy (at least not nearly on the same level), and vipers need some refinement, other than that, there is no option for me.

I would think the GT3 would have more grip. Less weight, less power, higher revving, much less torque, so it's much easier to put all of the power to the ground. But that wont stop it from getting beaten, the GT2 will just take more skill to drive.
