I assume that "A" wasn't from your English class. 
Don't paint a bad picture for Asians. Not all parents bribe their kids with extravagant gifts and not all kids feel they deserve ridiculous cars just because of few good test scores.

Well, in Asian family that's pretty normal, last semester i got A on my exam text (my school no A+ score), so I got a Cayenne Turbo . In Asian culture, study is important than everything when they're growing up, parent usually put the score and prize together, you get a good score then you get a big prize. You can ask around who came from Asian, everybody know.

it's none of my business to care about what cars you buy but with that kind of thinking, you really should ask yourself that if it's the best way of spending money regardless of rather your parents are millionaire, billionaire or not.
i am an immigrant as well and yes, i've been there and i am only 20.
my parents got me a coupe (not gonna say what it is but) that i liked but i didnt buy it to show people off how rich my parents are nor how i am "spoiled."

He is still in HS, there will be plenty for him to explore in the future. But saying he got a Cayenne Turbo because he got one A+ kind of make me wonder what kind of values the kid is learning from his parents.
This is completely different than getting 500k from your parents
I think the original poster's dad wants him to learn the value of money and properties (In a shocking 500k way).Buying an expensive/fairly fast car because of one A+ has no meaning at all. I don't believe in working hard = better life but working smart.
