Question about the engine fan on 996 GT3

I've had a few 996-based cars and noticed that on the GT3 the engine fan doesn't seem to run as my previous cars have. On the Boxsters and TT the fan would almost always kick in after the car was turned off. This doesn't happen with the 3. I've really only noticed it coming on once or twice while the engine is still running. Does this seem normal?

Does the fan need to go on? Arer you in a hot location. May not need to kick on. My 996 GT3' fan only went on if it was real hot out and the engine was worked real hard. Other than that when I drove it in the winter rarely if ever went on.

I have yet to hear the fan on my RS. Don't think it is a problem unless driving in hot or driving real hard. my 2 cents, not an expert just my experience.

I'm in the Boston area. I drove the car about 1000 miles before the snow started to really fly. Car have only been driven in cool or cold NE weather. Sounds like it's not an issue.

Thanks,
