recommendations on mounts and cameras? I'm hoping to hit a few tracks this year in Cali and want to video how bad I'll be!

 

Do you have a harness bar or rollbar? If so, I have IOPort Racing's camera mount: http://www.ioportracing.com/

My camera is a Samsung SCD103 (I've had it for over 3 years now) - it's been great.

 

Otherwise, Manfrotto suction cup, very robust, stable, been using one for ages, never had the slightest issue with it. Using a conventional DVC with external Sony mike mounted in the glovebox, courtesy of the mandatory-windows-down rule on these shores. Samples.

 

Not sure what kind of camera you have, but if it supports it, I would go with a helmet cam add-on. They mount anywhere, easily, and you can take some cool video with it. I had mine mounted on the chin spoiler of my M roadster and got some very sweet video... Just a thought.
