Hey guys, does anyone know or have experience with the two? How do they compare, stability, rigidity, feel, etc...? TIA!

Are you talking about the diff between the 996 GT3 and the 996 GT2 chassis?
your question is a bit ambiguous.

pjalexandre is infamous around these parts
Well if you are talking about the 04 and newer 996 GT2 vs the 996 GT3 they are the same. Same shocks, same springs, same swaybars. They earlier GT2s had a less desirable suspension from a pure track standpoint.

I thought you might want a review between the 996 GT3 and the 997 GT3
But like PJ said I think the Chassis and suspension were the same.

Gt

Mark,

Have you driven a 7-GT3 yet? I just wondered how you thought it compared to your car. Still miss it. I grow more fond of my 2 every day, but not as fast as that 3. Both are all-stars in my book.

No I haven't...but I def want to...This is a funny thread..I bought your car and Carnerd bought my Turbo...

I have not put more than 1000 miles on the GT3..I hope to remedy that this Spring and Summer...I am interested in driving a 997 GT3 to compare..the roads here are brutal and maybe the 7 is a bit easier on daily use..

Did you sell your CTT?

Now all we need is Ron to chime in.

I dont know about that. I drove a 7 GT3, and its pretty stiff. I hope to test drive a 6 GT3 soon. I'll give you my thoughts when i do.

GT2 and 3

Small world, I also gave Carnerd a ride in my GT2. Yes, I sold my CTTS and picked up the M5, more for business reasons. Due to workload over the past year, I've put less than 2k on the GT2 since I got but it's really beginning to grow on me. It's not as easy to learn and enjoy as the 3 but a great car that must be respected, especially with it's current set-up. I've been considering another 3 since it offers a different dynamic.

Yes, that GT2 is extreme and must be respected...to say the least...

I missed a chance to drive a 7..going to try to do so but no rush..can't wait for some nice weather here..

I can't believe I wanted to sell my 2, I loved the hell out of it, then got a bit bored because it was physically draining on the street and just not fun/too much to drive on the street. Now since exploring its fantastic track/fun capability, I am hooked like NO OTHER CAR has given me, in every way. It's a keeper, but still want a GT3 as well or Strad to add in, which wont be happening anytime soon lol, best of both worlds!

Mark I would love to meet up sometime in the Spring/Summer, and get a ride in that 6 GT3, curious as to how it feels with the goodies you have in it!

Gt2

It's good to know these are now ending up in the hands of people that truly appreciate them. It's a small community and I'm happy to be associated. I've also considered selling mine but knew I'd have big regrets so I'm savoring the GT2 experience since it's unlikely to be repeated. Porsche really did a great job on the GT cars.
