Yes, there is a mkII to follow prodigue but most likely at the end 2009 as a MY10 model. Not confirmed by Porsche but this is the talk...

I had the passenger side power outlet fuse go out. Other than that - bullet proof. Only 7600 miles and 3 track wknds.

I think the 996 GT3 owners can give you a better idea since they probably have higher mileage on basically the same motor.

Chris welcome, you will come to find all kinds of help on the board. the 3 is rock solid. I have about 6,000 miles on my car and the last 3,000 are mostly track miles driving near the red line. Never a problem. the only issue I have had and plenty of others is a little RMS. Porsche has not figured it out yet. but we are talking a few drops of oil. No big deal. I love the car.

Thanks fellas, this is the general concensus on the 3 and I'm a whole lot more comfortable about my pending purchase. Just hoping they sort out the RMS and leave the gt1 motor in the gt3 for the mkII. After all, betta the devil you know (ie the gt1 motor) than the devil you don't...

Hi Chris

I do track days with both PCM and the Porsche Car Club.

The next PCV track day is on Sept 14th at Calder Park..I'II be there with my white GT3 and my sons R32 GTR.

Entry is free and the action starts from about 9.30am until 4.30 pm

There will be about 90 Porsche's running around of all different makes and models.

You should drop in....you will be impressed and motivated to act................?

Hey Brian,

thanks for the reply. I'm rostered on to work that day but now have a great reason to take the day off... lol... If you see a guy in a grey 200sx s15 down there, it'll most likely be me. Hope to come down and see some of the action.

Regards

Chris
