It's tough to think about selling it.

I'd be interested in it if it was white. I'd offer my s2k as a trade.

Nah, I'm sure I could list it if I asked, I've been on here a couple of years.
I'll get around to listing it if someone doesn't end up buying it-- some locals in SD may be interested, who knows. No big deal either way.

Not everyone is a scammer, after all. I don't need to sell it, I don't need the money, etc. I'm retired, and just don't need 5 cars sitting around.

Probably not the norm, I'm sure!

If you are selling it as a garage queen, I think you should change everything back to stock. IMO, buyers looking for garage queen like everything stock. Versus buyers looking for track ***** like all the equipment installed ready to go.

From a very biased point of view, I think you will have no problem getting $80k for it if it is in excellent condition. I have a garage queen myself '04 Seal Grey with just over 3k miles. Anyways, good luck!

PS There was another garage queen sold on another forum couple months ago. Asking price was mid to high $80s and it was sold in very short period of time. So I assume seller got very close to asking price. And I believe there are quite a few people looking for 996GT3 as the mints are getting harder and harder to find.

I know stock is always preferable--- but, I figured out of all modifications that could be done to these cars, an exhaust system is probably most desirable, especially if it's a super high quality unit like Europipe. An almost universal opinion (complaint) of the stock 996 GT3 exhaust is it is too tame. The Europipe fixes that without sounding like, or looking like, an 'add on' modification. Hence my reason for getting it over say Fabspeed, in the first place. Besides, it's certainly easy enough to put the stock system back on, and the good thing is there's no permanent scars like many other mods leave.

Since the system runs about $5k, I guess I could remove it, sell it for $3500 or so, and still get around $80k for the car. Who knows. Guess if I get serious and start advertising, etc., I'll look into it.

This thread was more about wondering why there seems to be so little mention about 996 GT3's anymore, and what the demand is currently. I really wasn't intending to turn it into a for sale thread other than answering a couple of responders, as I really hadn't decided if I wanted to let it go.

Just keep it! Unless of-course, you plan on replacing it with a 7RS.

Hey Steve
I'm still 5 ahead of you. Besides, I am tired of people saying "Porsh" when they own one.....

Kind of one of those "murican" pronunciations, I guess......

However, some that say it like the female first name "Portia", are kind of pompous sounding too.... It's a tough one to get right if you don't speak German.

Do you ever run across any people looking for nice Z8's these days? My friend has one, and he's been threatening to sell it.

I charge the battery now and then, and only drive it when I can drive it far enough to get it up to operating temp. (no "fire it up and move it 50 feet" type stuff).

Originally from Champion Porsche in FL, $118 sticker, all the good options.
I added a Europipe exhaust with 200 cell racing cats, otherwise no mods.

Only 8200 miles.

Is there much interest in these cars lately?

I kind of hate to sell it, but I also hate to have it just sit.
Thank goodness for people like you, there will always be good quality second hand porsches being incubated into an affordable dream car for that right someone.
