Why did Mk2 have extreme front wheel offset?
Why did Mk2 have extreme front wheel offset?
The Mk1 and Mk3 offsets were 50mm and 53mm respectively, but the Mk2 was 40mm! Why was that?
Also, the Mk2 front brake rotors had a funny part number - the last digit being H ...
Please enlighten me. Thanks

I don't know where you are getting your info...there is no Mk III GT3...the front offset for a 996 Mk II GT3 is 40mm...63mm in the rear...perhaps the Mk I had an 8" front wheel..the Mk II has an 8.5" front wheel...actually, the Mk II has less offset at 40mm so it is not "extreme" as you have characterized...as far as the brakes are concerned are you talking about steel brakes or PCCB?

at least you knew what you meant by "extreme"...the 997 is a widebody compared to the 996...I'm not familiar with the offsets or track width of the 997 I'll let those owners chime in...the "H" appears to be 2004 only...the 05 brakes do not have the "H" in the part number, which makes me think Mark I not Mark II
