GT3 front grille
GT3 front grille
Been searching sponsor sites and this board but could not find a source for 997 GT3 bumper grilles to protect radiators from various airborne objects including leaves, stones and birds. Does anybody have a hint ?
I have the Cargraphic inserts. Nice fit and they look great. No drilling required (but of course that means they're glued in which I'm not sure is any better for folks worried about drilling, etc.)
It's a worthwhile upgrade. I'd love to understand Porsche's rational for not including them on the car or at least offering as an option. IMO, they're needed regardless of whether the car is used as a daily driver or primarily for track duty.

+1 on the GMG screens. GMG is a site sponsor here. Look to your right, toward the bottom.
I just had mine done. They are made of very thin wire mesh, and can't really notice them from afar.

there was a guy on eBay that was selling screens that he had pre-cut but you had to pull off the front bumper to install, its a job but it looked good for under 100.00.
I just took some screen and cut it and put it in front of the radiators it works for me you can't see well but its in there.

Thanks for your replies. GMG's are best looking IMO, but if the asking price is a bit steep, bumper removal is the kind of thing I would not commit myself to, and must be an easy couple of hours at the dealer, assuming that they put it back in place perfectly ...
Guess I was day dreaming that there'd be a "non-surgical" solution.

Posed this question to my shop and they passed on all "pre-made" inserts and are fabricating something for me out of stainless mesh. Total cost will be about $400 for all labor to remove / reinstall the bumper, the stainless mesh material, and labor to cut a piece and secure it to the bumper. A few of the issues pushing toward doing it themselves included: Did not want fragile aluminum, wanted to cover all 5 inlets and not just the 3 larger ones, etc.
I used them from Fernbacher Scholes (spelling?) and had the front off to install them. Looks a lot better as they are bacsically invisible. Essential if you are going to a track. At the Ring three weeks ago I had to pressure wash the car each day top remove all the crud.
I just had my local shop make some for a few hundred bucks. Look good, not really noticeable.
