Not sure how i made the DAS bar seem weak in every imaginable roll over? Again i simply pointed out the "weak" points as with every other bar.
the das bar rear mounts to the shock towers while the front mounts to the seat belt and has a floor plate which should also help quite a bit. it's a very rigid setup. i wish they'd made it chromoly to make it lighter but that's not to say the mild steel will not widthstand a rollover. it's just heavy. ~65lbs total last time i weighed it. the cross members i'm not really concern about. surely it has some strength although it would be nice to see some datapoint from DAS on this. i'm no scientist though, nor do i claim to be an expert in this field so take it for what its worth.

I completely agree. I should refrain. They are possible weak points. I dont discount mild steel being as strong or stronger than chromoly. I never said that, simply that it was a lot heavier b/c of it, almost twice the weight.

Ok, i think we all get how much you love the RS bar now.

I'm not sure what you mean here. The other bars look terrible laterally? And yes buying something b/c it looks racy is always a good idea.

i think he just loves anything oem.

Its $2500 powder coated and installed, but Tony wont ship it. You have to leave the car with him. He is extremely meticulous with his work. He designs each bar individually (as some cars a different i guess) and his box section welds are nothing short of art, no joke.

that's actually not a bad price at all for a custom half cage, powercoated and installed. TCD does look like the best option. does he weld the setup in the car? doesn't look like there's any connecting joints to get that thing in and out of the car.

Its actually a bolt in option, somewhat. He actually welds box sections into the floor/chassis where the main hoop legs mount for incredible strength and support. Much like the Cup cars have. But you can remove it and unless you were asked i think it'd be very hard to tell there was a half cage in there.

I installed the factory rear half cage and love it! On a practical note, I had it painted to match the car and then had it covered with the 3M clear bra to avoid scratching it when putting something (little) in back or cleaning the rear windows

I copied the Original protective decals 3M that had the roll bar of a friend in his original euro RS.
