congrats! just a question: can you please tell me what the dealer has done? I had retrofit a pcm2.1 into a cayenne and the dealer here couldnt clear all the erors, at the end everything is working, sound great, but they couldnt make the press buttons to work, so right now I can only use the wheel controls. like yours mine wasnt new, belonged to anoher car, but I have BOSE if that counts. I ask this here cause the units are the same, just the shape is different,and when I've asked that on our board werent so many that knew about this.
thanks and sorry that I brought this from dead.

the dealer has done nothing as of this point. everything was plug and play for me! however, i do believe that i need to have the dealer activate the pcm on my car so it displays the turn arrows on my dash and links the chrono package and pcm together. not a huge deal but will probably have it done next time i need to bring the car in.

What did you pay for the used PCM? When you say PCM are you talking about the big unit that goes in the dash or that unit plus all the items needed for the front trunk (the DVD drive and components). Thanks!

ebay prices for the PCM (big unit that goes in the dash) are about $1800. but i've seen others on the forums sell for as low as $1500. the navigation module (dvd player in trunk) sells on ebay for about $500.

keep in mind, these were the prices for these items 6mo ago when an 08 gt3 where selling for $125k range used. with todays drop in car pricing, i would expect to pay less for these use oem porsche parts.

I should sell it

Thanks. I have both sitting in boxes since I gutted by GT3 to make it a track car. I suppose I should try to sell them instead of letting them sit for a long time. It is HIGHLY unlikely the car will ever return to its original state.

Got your PM. Apparently I don't have enough posts to PM you back. Sorry. If you want to PM me your e-mail address I can send you the information. I do not think it is "BOSE". I do not think they put BOSE in the 997 GT3s did they? The two options I have are
p16 = PCM
490 = Sound package plus
it does not say BOSE on the sticker or pro forma invoice anywhere. Perhaps the unit itself says something? That is at my shop and I can check that this weekend.
