That's a lotta fun. People who haven't had one discount the M5 and M6. I've had an M5 and two M6's. They are monstrously fast and fun.

Okay what's up? Is the driver of the M6 a double amputee!!

I do not believe this. I know the GT3RS is approx. 700 lbs lighter but I am sorry the M5/M6's pull alot harder than that. I want to run that RS.

Is the RS modded? Even though at best it would be 450 bhp.
Locally modded M6 has beaten (and badly) a stock Z06 (running 50 to 190 mph).

I apologize but the more I watch and LISTEN to the video it gives me questions.
As best I could listen (despite all the screaming by someone) it seems to me that the M6 did not downshift to set up for the rolling start run and did not shift once during the encounter.
Therefore it would appear that the M6 just floored it in 7th gear. Therefore being flat dead. Not in the power or torque of the motor.

Gentlemen I am sorry but this does not wash.
I own both a 997 GT3 and GT3RS. The GT3 is nicely modded making 392 rwhp and track prepped and weighs 2959 lbs. This car does not have a prayer against my E60 M5 in a straight line. Rolling start or from the dig the M5 dominates.
On the road course the GT3 is king.

I know the owner and it was all a planned run. This was no fluke street encounter.
The runs were do 60 to 180 mph.

These are two stock cars, completely different game.

Agreed my M5 is not stock, granted. The real point is that a stock GT3RS will not out pull an M5/M6 on a rolling start. NO WAY.
We have several M5's down here and the 1/4 mile run has been 11.56 sec. with a trap of 126 mph. Has any RS ever recorded these times?

I love my GT3 and GT3RS but they do not have the straight line power of the M5/M6.

If the RS was modded well I will throw a modded M6 at it.

I do not like to say this but I am sorry. The video has no credibility.

Hell I will run the RS with my GT3.

sorry but that result is spot on. the 7 GT3 traps 120, m6 is lucky to trap 118...997 GT3 and GT3 RS will both pull on an m5 or m6.

they dont! thats the trap speed of a very modded m5 that makes about 650-700 hp.

stock m5s trap 115-116
m6s trap 116-118

stock GT3 traps 120

 

also, just for reference...here are the times for 0-186 mph

997 GT3-47.5
m6-51.1

so, yes the GT3 is a good amount faster to 186.
