It is a 4.0L motor, so the compressions is lower.

Excellent. I love it. If you have the means, why not.....

Not at all surprised that this came out of Dortmund. 9ff is known for these sort of crazy builds.

Larger displacement does not mean the compression is lowered. They could have made lower compression pistons when they bored the motor.

I'd say that was what he meant. He's saying "they definitely replaced the pistons, so they would have lowered the compression while at it..."

Given all else stays the same, if displacement's larger, compression is lower.
I assumed perhaps one reason they increased displacement was to lower compression so that they can get more turbo boost, power, and torque. In the end, they may have changed other components so that there is no 1-to-1 lowering of compression with increased displacement, who knows, but why?

Just wanted to clarify as this is the internet. I don't want others reading this to automatically think that opening up the motor means lowering the compression is the only way to go.

Didn't mean it negatively

No intercoolers makes it inferior to a GT2. Only good for short bursts of acceleration, then everything gets super hot, and boost needs to be turned down or it will ping bad. Would have been better of to start off with a standard turbo chassis.

Would this not be intercooled?

"-liquid charge air cooling"

I take that to mean Water to Air intercoolers.....

You're right, that would be water/air intercoolers. Although that never is an efficient setup. I don't see any air/water exchangers in the photo, unless they are mounted forward of the hot mufflers, and there are a lack of openings for the additional liquid radiators, unless they mounted them behind the hot factory radiators. It really looks like a difficult setup to get working right.

Sure. I'm with you. I didn't take it negatively, and I also didn't mean to sound like I thought that. All good.
