Weekend DIY
Weekend DIY
I had a blast this weekend working on my 997 GT3. Changed the pads (for PCCB) on all four corners and changed the oil. all of it was very easy and I had fun doing it. Now that my kids are in high school, I am starting to have time to do things like this again.
FWIW, the rears were about 3/4 gone and the fronts were a little over 1/2 way. I have 11 track days and 4.5K miles. I'll change them sooner next time. The rotors looked fine.
As Sara Palin would say, I'd like to give a call out to one of the service techs at Hennessy. I ran up there Saturday to get some parts and while I was there he showed me exactly what I needed to do for the brake work. He then gave me his number so I could call with questions. Talk about above and beyond the call.
I was doing the work b/c a group of us from the Peachstate PCA are heading up to VIR in two weeks for their DE. I hear it is a great track. Looking forward to it. Hoping it won't be too cold in the VA mountains.....
