Not so sure about that. The right alignment set up on a stock 6-GT2 works very well and can provide 3-like handling. Although this certainly can be improved. It's in managing the power characteristics that changes the experience with the 2-quite a bit more demanding but the rewards are greater for some. That's why we say that both cars are the way to go, if you can swing it.
Nelson, I stand corrected. While many of the DE'ers I've talked with agreed that the stock GT2 suspension is too soft I guess with a proper alignment the GT2 handles right up there next to the 3. After re-reading a couple of articles the consensus is that the launch car probably didn't have the ideal alignment settings (although I find this hard to believe), and according to Stout a proper alignment is critical on these cars, and with more ideal alignment settings the car handled, "very well against the superb 996 GT3." And according to James Sofronas, "controlling the rear suspension geometry and limiting toe and camber changes is the secret to getting the GT2 to handle progressively." While this wont require new dampers, you will need to swap the stock rear toe links (to control toe changes) and possibly the stock dog bones (to control camber changes under load).

This was also true of the 6-GT3 but once done along with proper alignment the handling is sweet. I'm among those that thought the handling feel of the 6-GT3 was more visceral when compared to the next gen. While the 7 is better and faster overall, the 6 is the better deal and very close to the 7 in terms of performance. Good decision with yours, Colby.

Yup, toe links are definitely of the very few essential things needed on the 6 GT3.

Thanks. I'm glad you decided to keep your 2. It's without a doubt one of the finest examples I've ever had the pleasure of seeing. If I dont get an SRF to race next year, a 6 GT2 is next on my list.
