Some sellers still want $380, $390 even $400+ in today's market, I guess they haven't reliaze how bad is the economy.

i think that car you listed had som e serious stories, issues. granted, might well be worth it for 275, but 275 unless im mistaken is still a smidgeon over 1/4 of a million bucks.
u can fix em up i guess...but if you're gonna spend that kind of coin, spend another 50, 60 and get the very right car.
great time to be a buyer with cash.

yeah, i believe a year or a year and a half ago they were in the 250k range, I might be mistaken. Anyway, I was at champion a few days ago and saw one sell for a number in between 390k and 410k....I believe the car had jsut under 10k miles.
I really don't like buy cars at eBay, especially from a dealer.
Check out this one, was listed by a dealer two weeks ago, for sure it's shill bidding:

If that car had stories, then it's way overpaid.Originally Posted by WyattH

Right now, sellers palys all kind of tricks/games try to sell their cars, but they forgot to play one simple game : lower your price

Why would you shill bid on a reserve auction? Must be a really stupid dealer as you're right, it's obviously shill bidding. (person who won the first auction is high bidder on the new auction)Originally Posted by DingDing

Buying any big ticket item on ebay is a bad idea. ebay is designed to get the seller the highest price. as a buyer, you want the lowest price. It's an interesting marketing tool though. I've done multiple deals from ebay calling the selling dealers and doing a traditional negotiation.
warrenties will be up soon
expect them to fall further
2 years ago mid-high 200s-low 300s were the norm
dealers were selling NEW cars for far less than sticker just to get rid of them
now, current owners that overpaid and cant take that your car is worth so much less now can call BS on me trying to make them feel better and their cars worth more
