My GT3 for a ZR1??

I am considering unloading my '04 GT3 for a new ZR1. Is this a good idea? Let me have the good and the bad. My issue is that I had my GT3 built w/o AC to make it lighter weight...then I get transferred to Texas 2 years later! I need a fast car with AC. I don't have GT2 money!

Thank you

I have had both, and can honestly say the ZR1 as cheesy as it is being a Chevy, it is damn fast. I currently have a 599 Ferrari and without a doubt the ZR1 is faster! I would say wait though, prices will fall on those quickly!

I have owned over 40 cars, but never an American car. From what I can tell the car is cheezy on the inside. I figure that I could drop on decent race seats to at least hold me in. I have bought some rare **** in my day but never paid over sticker....I'll wait if they are jacking the price. have you had the car on a track yet??

I have actually. I did a road test for Autoweek Mag in the fall and the car was great. My personal car I never tracked, but it is more impressive on the street than on the track. A Z06 is more of a hardcore track car, and that isnt necessarily great. The ZR1 is impressively quick and a great daily driver, yes interior is cheesy but take it for what it is. Its a third if the price of cars it is compared to and quicker than them all!

I think its a personal preference. I would say no, but I am the type that loves to have the power underneath me to go and do burnouts and really drive something hard. The Zr1 is the ultimate when it comes to that! The car is incredible for the money.

I need to see if I can drive one. My GT3 is wicked fast....on the limit. One of these days I might loose it! I am a retired factory race driver....I don't need any excitement at this stage in my life. So if I could run quick with less drama that would mean less stress!

Cool...I have never driven an open wheel car. That must be a great gig. I think Danica is over rated. Ever race against her? Walkins Glen was my home track for years and I saw her drive there, and it was pretty sad. Although I am retired, for fun I go down to Mexico and run the La Carrera Rally. I have a sweet car that was built in Sweden. Any more than that and it divorce court (HA!)

I've had my Z06 for a few years now and am wondering whether I should get a ZR1 or upgrade the Z06... or possibly go Viper and maybe TT later.

The GT-R is crazy fun to drive right now and I have been eyeing the ZR1 for quite some time...

The zr1 has all the features you are looking for, but as stated in a previous post you should wait a bit, the prices will go down.
