Picked up my GT3 today
Thanks guys!! I will definitely be tracking the car. One of the first things on my list to do is take advantage of a certificate for Bondurant Racing School my wife bought me for my birthday. It will be nice applying the skills I learn to this car. She was happy I bought a "practical" car because I sold a 1000+whp Supra to make room for it, lol. Its' definitely a different (Porsche)experience from the 996TT that I was used to.
Immediate mod plans include an alcantara RS steering wheel (the car was originally ordered with the leather wheel) and a factory roll cage. I'd like to get a set of Euro seats, but its hard to justify $13k just for seats.
What's a good reliable source for these types of mods?

Congratulations on a great car (and a great wife)! Enjoy them both in good health. The 997GT3 euro seats are well worth the money, I bought mine from Suncoast Steve (Board Sponsor). As far as the roll bar, I went with a DAS Sport and I am very happy (absolutely no rattles, creaks, or otherwise). The GT3 is most definitely best enjoyed on the track; you won't miss the turbo once you have some on track seat time in your new ride.
Impressions?
I would be interestred in your impressions. I just acquired a 996 GT3, my first "steamer". Every time I drive it I am impressed. Sound, feel, acceleration, a/c, the list goes on.
Great choice and sweet ride. White is the perfect GT3 color. Looks like a cup car for the streets!
For performance, I would get 18" wheels (go lightest possible). You will feel an immediate performance boost from the lower radius (this helps offset the longer gearing) and unsprung weight. Next get by-pass exhaust and software. This will make the car rev faster than stock and give a slight HP boost.
Good call on the seats, steering wheel and cage. Safety first.
Enjoy!
